Team Gleason's Mission
Team Gleason is a nonprofit organization founded by Washington State alum, Washington State native, and Cougar football player Steve Gleason. He continued his football career as a safety and special teams player for the New Orleans Saints. Steve contributed to one of the most iconic moments in Saint's history when he blocked a punt during the first home game after Hurricane Katrina. After leaving the NFL, Steve was diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.
